"He is not afraid of bad news. His heart is firm, trusting in the Lord."
Psalm 112 v 7 is a powerful verse.
It's talking about the righteous.
It's talking about the one who trusts in God, trusting in the Lord.
When that is your posture of your life, my life on a daily basis, if we wake up trusting in the Lord, we walk throughout the day trusting in the Lord, we go to bed trusting in the Lord, what does that mean?
That means our hearts will be firm.
Just think about it.
From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep and really by extension, every moment you are sleeping, you are trusting in God, therefore your heart is firm.
You know that God has your life in His hands and that He is trustworthy, that the One who knows everything that was and is and is to come, the One who knows everything that's going to happen in your life holds you in His loving hands.
Feel this. Rest in this. Take heart in this.
Don't you want a life that rests on a sure foundation?
This is what is afforded to us through the good news of Jesus.
Lord help us to trust in You.
You have a firm place to stand.
You don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.
And you don't know what's going to happen a year from now.
But you know this.
Your heart is in the hands of God and you can trust Him with everything you have, everything around you.
You can trust Him. He is trustworthy.
Therefore, you don't have to be afraid of bad news.
What a great way to live.
You don't have to be afraid of bad news.
Think about something happening to someone in my family or a lot of people in my family or just people I love or just this or that happening in the world.
Psalm 112 v 7 Reminds Us All Things Work Together For Good
There is a reality that comes in trusting in the Lord that says even the worst thing that could happen that I can get imagine, as long as I'm trusting in God and I know He is good and I know He loves me and I know He's working all things together for good, those who love Him and I know that in the end He's going to wipe away every tear from my eyes.
There's going to be no more sorrow and no more hurting and no more pain and every nation, tribe and tongue and people is going to gather around His throne.
People from every nation, tribe and tongue sing His praises and a new Heaven, a new earth will last forever and ever and ever.
I'm trusting in God.
This Verse Leads Us to Ask For Help Trusting God
So help us to trust in You right now.
When we go to bed tonight, as we sleep, when we wake up tomorrow, help us to trust in You.
Help us to live trusting in You and no matter what happens, no matter what good news or bad news comes our way in the days, months, years, and moments to come.
