'Benefice Songs of Praise'
Sunday June 29th at Rothersthorpe
I wonder if you would be able to promote the Benefice Songs of Priase service, please?
We have an annual service for our patronal festival, which this year coincides with Rothersthorpe's turn to host the Benefice service.
Having spoken with Maureen, we felt it would be a lovely idea to continue with this as this month's Benefice service, it being the 5th Sunday of the month.
Traditionally, we encourage members of the congregation to nominate their favourite hymns, from which a selection will be chosen for the service.
Possibly not all of them, although Nic did his very best for the past 2 years, squeezing 8 into the service!!!!!
The service is what I describe as a "hymn sandwich" - with short prayers, readings, linking thoughts or whatever Maureen (who is leading) is led to deliver.
A joyful occasion.
I'd be very grateful if you could promote the service, please?
I've 'attached' a sheet which can be used to collect favourite hymns.
(Doesn't quite work in this format, but ask, if it would help, to attach a copy to an email to yourself)
If you could get this to me a week before the service, that would be wonderful, please.
Also, if anyone is inspired to make a cake or a batch of scones for the tea and cakes which will precede the service, that would be very much appreciated -
any rough idea of numbers likely to attend would be extremely helpful.
