Colossians 3:1-4
Good News Translation (GNT)

1 You have been raised to life with Christ, so set
your hearts on the things that are in heaven,
where Christ sits on his throne at the right side
of God.
2 Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on
things here on earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with
Christ in God.
4 Your real life is Christ and when he appears,
then you too will appear with him and share
his glory!

Rules for Holy Living
Colossians 3:1-4
Through faith in Jesus, we are translated from death to life, from the kingdom of Satan
to the kingdom of God. Since you have been raised with Jesus, set your hearts on things
of the kingdom of God.
Let us not love this world, nor worldly pursuits and possessions, because the more
we love the world the less we shall love God. It is not possible to love both God and
the world at the same time
We must no longer think as we once did, when we belonged to the world. But now,
Paul says, having received a new spiritual nature through the Holy Spirit, we must walk
according to that new nature.
Does a dead man have any desire or longing for the things of the world?
No, he doesn't.
And neither should we. For we too have died to the world.
Worldly men love the world more than they love God. They cannot see Jesus, and they
cannot see our new spiritual life. They can see the fruit of our new life; that is, our good
works, our love, and our joy.
Jesus is now hidden from men's physical eyes; but one day He will come again, and at
that time He will appear to all men. And we, too, will appear with him in glory.
After that, nothing will be hidden.
If Jesus, is the source of our life, then let us set our hearts on Him!
Let us set our hearts
and minds on things above. Why look to earthly things?.
